Tigers finish strong to overcome feisty Panthers
The Tigers welcomed the Caloundra Panthers to the Den yesterday in a much anticipated contest. The Panthers have had a good start to their season with a fifty percent win loss record as they sit in third position on the ladder. The Tigers were missing five of their best players with much anticipated nuptials being celebrated yesterday. A big congratulations to Jack Coghlan marrying long time sweetheart Lucy Coogan. Tigers win battle of the big cats
The Tigers travelled to Red Rooster Park at Burpengary yesterday to take on the Moreton Bay Lions in a much different timeslot of 5pm. After two big wins over recent weeks the Tigers were very keen to make sure they didn’t lose any momentum while the Lions were looking for their first win for the season. Vale John Hill
The Mayne Tigers would like to acknowledge the passing of Life Member, Hall of Famer, and Premiership player John “Jack” Hill. John passed away yesterday in palliative care in Hobart after a lengthy illness. John arrived at the Tigers from southern Tasmania in the 1960’s as a left footed onballer, who was a prolific ball getter playing 114 tenacious A grade games culminating in two premierships in 1966 and 1967 under Coach Mike Darby.
