Tigers veteran Chris Azzopardi will play his 100th game for the Thirds this Friday night at the Den.
Chris has been a Tiger since under 12’s and has also racked up an impressive 96 A Grade and 35 Reserve Grade games for a total of 231 Senior games in a terrific show of loyalty.
Chris joined the senior ranks at a time the club was struggling and it needed some fresh young legs to lift it. He was one of a number of Mayne Juniors who got their opportunity to play seniors while still a teenager and he took the chance with both hands. He played an incredible 96 Senior games before study and work got in the way but he has continued to enjoy footy since the Third grade started in 2015 to hardly miss a game.
While he didn’t experience premiership success in the higher grade he was able to enjoy it with his mates in 2017 when the Thirds broke through to win the silverware. Chris was also the Best and Fairest in the Thirds in 2016 and continues to be one of the first players selected every Friday night.
The Tigers congratulate Chris on this outstanding achievement and wishes him well for his 100th game this Friday night.
It would be terrific to see a big contingent of Tiger faithful on hand this Friday night at the Den to cheer him on.
