Gartlan is a Tiger for Life

Senior Coach Jack Gartlan was awarded Life Membership of the Mayne Football Club on Saturday night at the Annual Presentation night at Tattersalls.

Jack came to the Tigers at the beginning of 2016 from the North Shore Football Club in the Barwon League to go on and play in the three peat Senior Premiership that year. He suffered a range of injuries over his time limiting his senior games but he was eligible to play in the 2019 Reserves Premiership which defeated a star studded Noosa team.

He took up a co-coaching role for the Reserves with Bill Stephens for the 2022 season taking the Tigers to the narrowest of losses to Coorparoo in the Grand Final. He was a playing coach for the 2023 Reserves Premiership with Bill overcoming Coorparoo this time who were unbackable until the Tigers prevailed on the big day.

Jack was selected as Senior Co-Coach with Jeremy Watts for the 2024 and 2025 seasons and took on the role stand alone in 2026.

Jack now goes down in Tiger history as their most successful coach after completing the Senior Premiership three peat from 2024 to 2026 beating Coorparoo, Springwood and University on top of the 2023 Reserve Grade win. Five Grand Finals in succession and he has signed on for 2027 in wonderful news for the club.

Jack and his partner Lauren are also very active members of the club’s Social Committee binding the playing group together on and off the field.
