Life Member Murray Laing renews Coaching Role

The Mayne Tigers are pleased to announce the return of the Thirds inaugural Coach Murray Laing. Murray was the man that got the Thirds up and going in 2015 at the very raw age of just 21 before taking them to a Premiership in 2017 in a six year reign as Coach.

Murray took time off from coaching in 2021 to have a breather and enjoy a year as a player. He was however a key part of the leadership group for the team this year.

Murray was awarded Life Membership of the Tigers at the 2021 Annual Presentation and Club Champion Night for his dedicated service to the Tigers as a player, coach and volunteer over a period of more than ten years.

He is a very popular young man with the playing group and is sure to be welcomed back into this role by everyone at the club.

The Mayne Football Club would like to say a very big thank you to Lee Holleran who stepped in to coach the team for 2021 in selfless fashion. Lee has been a fixture at the Tigers since his children Nick and Kasey first joined as juniors many years ago. Lee is a Life Member of the Mayne Juniors on the back of his significant service as a Coaching Director, coach, club umpire’s mentor and manager, Committee Member as well as all round voluntary work.

He is also well known right around the footy community as a top level umpire having umpired over 600 senior games. Lee has a desire to continue his coaching and will no doubt be seen around the club and South East Queensland in the future as he has plenty more to give to community football.

All Thirds players are encouraged to join in when training recommences on the 23rd November at the Den.
