Mayne Youth Footy in full swing for 2023

The Mayne Juniors Youth Football Programme is in full swing for 2023 with three under 13 teams in training under the guidance of Tiger legend Andrew Housego.

The Tigers have nominated two boys teams and a girls team for 2023 setting the club up for a big season.

After a very successful Pre-Season Camp at one of the Tigers Sponsor’s beautiful facilities, the Ingenia Holidays Rivershore Sunshine Coast Holiday Park, the under 13 cohort is training every Monday and Thursday night at 5.30pm at the Den with numbers continuing to build every week.

The Senior club is supporting the group with regular attendance from their playing group to show the way. Former Mayne Junior and Tigers Premiership player Gus Shaw was the first on hand this week to add some experience and skill to training.

It has been some time since the Tigers fielded this many youth teams in one age group and on the back of a very successful Under 12 Premiership team in 2022, the Juniors are very excited that this will be a watershed year for the club.

Housie has advised that he is looking forward to this year’s group providing a resurgence of Youth Football at the Tigers for many years to come.

If you have either a boy or girl who might be interested in playing under 13 football and they were born between 1st July 2009 and 30th June 2011, then contact Andrew Housego on 0419 144 209 or just come on down to the Den at York Street, Nundah on Monday or Thursday night at 5.30pm.
