Training for the Tigers recommenced on the week of the 8th January with the Womens team out first on the Monday night followed by the men on the Tuesday night. Numbers for all grades have been terrific despite the sultry and very wet conditions at times. The groups have been sharing training over the course of the week on Oval 2 with Oval 1 renovations behind schedule due to the weather. It is hoped that both ovals will be available in the next couple of weeks as the Everton Juniors begin to ramp up their Youth training as well.
Training has been undertaken once again under the guidance of Science of Fitness Strength and Conditioning Coach Sasha Cochrane with the group already looking sharp.
The Pre-Season will run through to March in preparation for two pre-season games for the Division 1 group when they play Springwood on the 16th March and Mount Gravatt on the 23rd March.
Division 1 Coaches Jack Gartlan and Jeremy Watts have been very pleased with the commitment of the group so with good retention of the playing group and some very impressive new signings adding to the mix, the year ahead looks very promising.
The Women’s team is off to their best start for the commencement of their fourth season with very good numbers on the track and the enjoyment level at an all time high.
The girls have undertaken some great recruiting over the off season which is paying off already. Coaches Seb Shaw and Nick Galvin report the girls are working hard with their skillwork of a high standard. They are still looking for more recruits with enquiries at president@maynetigers.com.au
The Women’s team will hold their first Practice Match on the 23rd March 2024 against Alexandra Hills at Alexandra Hills.
The Thirds are out of the blocks early with training buzzing under the leadership of Coach Murray Laing once again.
