Women’s Team enjoy hit out with Sandgate

The Women’s team enjoyed their first hit out for 2022 in a Practice Match with the Sandgate Seahawks at the Den in the late game.

The Tigers debuted several new players with an experienced Belinda Turner showing she will be a dangerous weapon for the team this year. Turner’s attack on the ball and her strong tackling were a feature yesterday.

It was good to see Emily Bowden back in good form after an injury shortened 2021 season. Bowden was strong around the ground and as always creative in front of the goals while Kara Schooley Proud was busy all day getting plenty of possessions.

Rhianna Meehan showed she will be very handy this year in a strong opening game while the youngsters Dakodah Cott and Grace Mahoney were livewires for the Tigers.

The team will play their opening fixture on the 23rd April against Pine Rivers at Pine Rivers.

There are still spots available to join the Tigers Women’s team. Enquiries from new prospects can be made on our Facebook page or by email to president@maynetigers.com.au
