Zac Quin is Top Tiger for 2025

The Mayne Tigers held their Annual Presentation Night at the Tattersalls Club in Queen Street, Brisbane last night for the third year with a who’s who of the true believers in attendance for the last Gala event of the season.
It was one of the biggest turnouts for this event in years with everyone toasting the wonderful successes of the 2025 season including the Senior Back to Back Premiership.
The night commenced with President Cam Shaw providing a detailed report and wrap on the many highlights of the year while he thanked the many volunteers and contributors who made the year another success. This included his hard working Committee, the Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Managers for all the grades as well as the Team Support staff, the Canteen and Bar volunteers, people who ran events and the many people who managed the wide variety of jobs on game day.
The nights agenda included formal recognition of volunteers, the awarding of the Jack Kennedy Club Person of the Year, recognition of Milestone players, new Hall of Fame Inductees and two new Life Members.
It was then on to the various team awards led by Coaches providing their wrap on the their team’s season.
The biggest award of the evening was the Keith Beavis Best and Fairest in the Senior Grade which was won by Zac Quin for another stellar season where he not only kicked 63 goals, he was a powerhouse in the middle when required as well as filling critical roles when the need required. Coaches Jack Gartlan and Jeremy Watts paid tribute to the young star for his dedication to the task and his club.
Quin gave a great speech in response recognising his coaches for their planning and organisation and the way they have managed the last two seasons. He also recognised all his team mates and urged everyone to go around again to keep the momentum going.
Zac McLean was judged Runner Up Best and Fairest for another wonderful season. After relinquishing the Captain’s role due to family commitments, he still continued on as a wonderful club leader on and off the field and was rightly recognised for his efforts. He was also awarded Life Membership for his many years of service to the club.
Multiple Club Champion Jack Collings took out the Third Best and Fairest for the second year in a row proving that he can still achieve a high poll result after another great year including a very influential game in the Grand Final.
Ryan Doolan was voted the Mick Nolan Player’s Player as well as Most Consistent for his dominant season winning the League Goal Kicking. He was recognised by the Coaching Staff for his leadership after taking over the Captaincy when Daniel Schmidt was ruled out for the season, Possibly the youngest ever Tiger Captain to lead his side to a Premiership.
Louis Quin was awarded Best in Finals also taking out the Coaches Award for his season. He arrived at pre-season in super shape after being away in the 2024 and missing that premiership showing how determined he was to make sure the club saluted again in 2025.
Duncan McCabe took out the Everton District Sporting Club Award as the local Rising Star while Daniel Schmidt was awarded the Best Team Player for his work in and around the team including coaching the seniors and reserves, as well as his efforts on the Club Committee and work running events and functions.
In other Major Awards, Andy Tydink won the Graham Walters Best and Fairest in the Reserves, Cooper Westerhuis the John Laing Best and Fairest in the Thirds, while Dakodah Cott and Zoe Bourne tied for the Glenda Barber Best and Fairest in the Women's Team.
