Jack Collings - Double Century and Counting

Jack Collings will run out this Saturday for his 200th senior appearance for the Tigers as just the eleventh player to achieve this milestone in over one hundred years.
A lot has been written about Jack over the years on his way to this incredible number with each of the previous milestones being bookmarked with adversity and triumph. He has overcome major injuries including an ACL and two back injuries as well as sitting out games for the COVID years, but the last fifty games have been the smoothest sailing of his career punctuated with two premiership medals in 2024 and 2025.
He achieved his 100 in 2018 and then had to wait until 2023 to get to an elusive 150 games due to injury and COVID, but the 200 has been on his bucket list all this time and such is the will and determination of this man that nothing was going to stand in the way.
Jack’s career at the Tigers mirrors the history of the club in the modern era with his name firmly at the forefront. He has led from the front as Club Captain from 2017 to 2022 and continues to be an unparalleled leader of the group on and off the field.
It is hard to imagine how much more he can contribute to the club having achieved four senior premierships in 2015, 2016, 2024 and 2025. He is the all time most capped Keith Beavis Club Champion with five trophies in the cabinet and has been recognised as a Life Member and Hall of Fame Member for his outstanding contributions to the club on field as well as for his work as a dedicated Committee Member off field since 2017.
Jack is renowned for his preparation and consistency which is an inspiration to those he mentors in the way that the players that he looked up to in his early days. He was always grateful for the leadership shown by his cousin Caleb Brown as well as the other big names of the time including Andrew Housego, Luke Faulkner, Luke Ferguson and Shaun Daly.
He continues to poll highly in the club best and fairest coming third in the voting for the last two seasons and is always in contention for honours on designated big games. He won the inaugural Meakin Stackpoole Anzac Day Medal in 2025 and won his third Reunion Day Mick Nolan Medal in 2024.
Ironically, he has a habit of playing his milestone games on the big stage with the 100 and 150 each on Anzac Day and now the 200 on Reunion Day.
He now proudly leads a whole new cohort of young high achievers who he is proud to help in their journey.
The club wishes Jack all the very best for his 200th game and many more as he climbs the Tigers honour board.
The following tributes and congratulations have been penned by his current Coach and team mates who clearly hold him in the highest regard.
Jack reaches his 200th game as one of the toughest and most respected players to pull on the Mayne jumper. As a teammate, coach and friend, I’ve seen firsthand the determination and leadership he brings every single week. Despite significant injuries that would have seen others retire Jack has never taken a backward step and has always attacked every contest with courage and commitment. A five-time Best and Fairest winner, his consistency and standards speak for themselves. At 35 Jack is still an Integral part of the team, consistently among the best players. Jack is as determined as they come and the type of player every club is proud to have. One of the most competitive players I have seen to the point where he can never admit that an opposition player has played a good game. Congratulations on 200 quality games.

Jack Collings is someone who is what it means to be a Mayne Tiger in every way. He is a genuinely committed and passionate player who runs out on every Saturday and who you can expect nothing short of his maximum effort. He is an inspiration and superb professional both on and off the field and his continuous effort to ensure the club goes from strength to strength is remarkable. Congratulations Jack on the achievement and it has been a privilege to be part of a small chapter of your outstanding football career.

Jacko embodies a professional approach to the club and to the game with everything he does on and off the field for the Tigers. The seriousness with which I take my own preparation, conditioning and volunteering at Mayne wouldn't be where it is without his example to follow over the years. When I think of Tiger culture, Jack is on a short list of names that spring to mind. It goes without saying that he is genuinely fearless in-game and as tough and reliable a midfielder as you could ask for. He routinely flies the flag to protect his teammates and (just quietly) has bailed out many a shocking kick coming from my boot through sheer will to win a contested ball. Off-field, some of the great days on the Mayne Tigers calendar (e.g. Chicken Run, Cash Draw) wouldn't be what they are without his efforts over the years. Add to all that an unflinching resolve against major injury scares, and you've got a very special milestone game, on Reunion Day no less, that I'll be stoked to be there for.

Collings! One of if not the most professional players I’ve ever played with! Shades of a Pendlebury career. You’re a ripper on and off the field! Loved playing with you over the years and I’m sure many more to come! Planned 200th on reunion day what a coincidence, you can thank me later haha! Congrats mate!

If I had to pick one player to run out onto the field with each game, Jacko would be the first person I'd pick. He's one of, if not the best player I've had the opportunity to line up alongside and I've never seen him shy away from a contest. He's the type of player that will consistently put himself in a position that very few others would to produce that big moment in a game when the team really needs a lift. He had a couple of years out with injury a few seasons back and I think that if it were anyone else having to go through that it would've been career over. I know all the boys at Mayne are grateful he stuck at it to get back playing again because the difference between having him out there on the field with you compared to when he's not is night and day. He's also a ripper bloke and someone I'm lucky to consider a close mate. All the best for the 200th, Jacko!

Congratulations Jacko on 200 of the absolute best. One of the great club men, team mates and all round good blokes. Jack has poured his heart and soul into the club and deserves every accolade he has received. He works harder than anyone I know and we all walk a little bit taller with him along side us on field. It has been a privilege to be your team mate for so long.
All the best for Saturday mate. I’m tipping 30 touches, 10 tackles, a goal and an 8pm exit. The way he’s tracking, another 200 could be on the cards!! Don’t forget it’s all about you on Saturday mate!

Jack is a heart and soul member of the club. Has done heaps on and off field to help the tigers over the past 15 years organising many social events and never taking a backwards step on field. Genuine gun who I'm glad I've had the opportunity to play with and l look forward to more games to come.

Jacko is the embodiment of a mayne tiger. A leader, tough nut and professional, he's been a pleasure to play alongside.
No-one goes harder! Congratulations on this milestone, credit to you and your character mate.

Huge milestone for Jack hitting game 200 this weekend. Jack is a Mayne Tigers legend who has the respect of everybody involved at the Club and across the competition. The effort Jack puts into this club is incredible - the December preseasons, breakfast creek raffles, home cooked lasagnes for the debutants, coffees and social club events just to name a few. On the field, Jack is a serious competitor who simply hates to lose. He goes harder than any one I have played with and there is nobody I enjoy playing alongside more than Jack. It’s a privilege to line up along side Jack each week and know he is saving his best footy for the 3pete finals campaign this year! Go Tiges

Absolutely love playing with Jacko
Words I would use to describe: Tough, Hardworking, Consistent, Ruthless, Leader, Passionate
Jack was one of the first blokes to come up and welcome me to the club when I first came over from Sandgate. I think we’ve both been hungry for a premiership in footy and been lucky enough to share the last couple years of success with him.
He’s also become a really good mate of mine.
I look up to Jacko in the broader sense and hope to maintain his consistent hard work and passion as I get older. 200 games is a massive achievement and exemplifies the qualities I’ve mentioned above.
Well done Jacky boy

A man of grit, courage, and consistency, it’s no surprise you’ve ticked off another 100 Jacko! I’ve never played with someone that so fiercely attacks the contest time and time again, week after week - and you have the scars to prove it.
To also keep the rig in cherry ripe nick through your continued, regimented routine (even rehabbing through injury that has kept you off the track at different stages) is testament to your determination and persistence!
Really proud to say I play alongside Jack Collings.
(I hope the pregame concoction of rice, banana and salt goes down even easier this week knowing you’ve cracked the double ton)
Eat ‘em alive mate!
